Getting more play from less battery
Long offline sessions are only as good as your battery. A few tweaks make a real difference, and most people never touch them.
Drop the brightness and cap the frame rate if the game lets you. Many arcade and racing games run at high frames by default, which drains fast and rarely improves the feel.
Airplane mode itself is a battery saver, since your phone stops hunting for signal. That's a nice side effect of playing offline in the first place.
Close background apps before a long session. Some games share resources poorly, and a stray app syncing in the background can eat both memory and power.
None of this is dramatic on its own, but stacked together it's the difference between finishing a chapter and watching your screen go black mid-boss.
