About
Pocket Offline started as a shared spreadsheet between a few friends who kept getting stuck on trains and planes with nothing decent to play. We were tired of downloading something that looked great in screenshots, then getting a loading spinner the moment the Wi-Fi dropped. So we began keeping a list of games that actually work without a connection, and the list turned into this site.,We don't run everything through a marketing filter. Someone on the team picks a game, plays it for at least a few days, and writes down what stuck and what annoyed them. If a game needs to phone home just to open the main menu, it doesn't make the cut here — that's the one rule we never bend.,We look for variety, not just the trendy genre of the month. A good offline library should have a slow-burn RPG for long flights, a puzzle for the ten minutes before a meeting, and a simulator you can lose an afternoon to. When we choose what to cover, we mix genres on purpose.,Nobody pays us to say nice things. If a game is mediocre, we say so and explain why, then move on. The whole point is that you can trust a recommendation before you spend time and storage on it.
