Emberfall Legends

Emberfall Legends is the kind of RPG you download for a long trip and finish weeks later. The story follows a small band of exiles rebuilding a burned-out kingdom, and the writing has just enough humor to keep the darker beats from dragging. Everything, including the full campaign, is stored on the device.

Combat is turn-based and readable. You line up your party, choose skills, and watch the timeline of who acts next — it rewards planning without punishing you for a slow reaction. The skill tree opens up more than we expected, and by mid-game you're genuinely building characters around a strategy.

Our only gripe is inventory management, which gets fiddly once you're juggling dozens of items. But the world is worth it. This became the game people on the team kept talking about at lunch.
